I grew up in Troy, NY and started ultra-running shortly after moving to Colorado 6 years ago. I love the Outdoor lifestyle the mountains offer. My passion is Trail Running and exploring the wilderness around me. I couldn’t ask for a better running partner than my German Shepard Rooster. I just completed my first 50 mile race at Run Rabbit Run in Steamboat. I am part of the Vertical Runner Breckenridge race team, an ambassador for EPIC Bar. I work for Altra Running as the New England Tech Rep. I also love to snowboard powder, listen to music, do yoga, spend time with family and friends, cook and eat!
Thanks for following Your blog is well done. Great trail running in Colorado. Good luck in the 50k.
Good luck in your training, will be following your progress! – Paul
Thanks Paul! Same to you!
My training partner is a German Sheperd mix named Aggie. She’s the best!

Dude, I spent a year in Troy: 4th Street Alley. Right by the bocce ball court. In VT now, but man I miss the Troylet sometimes…
haha nice! I know 4th street too well. I love VT. I went to SUNY Plattsburgh and shedded Jay alot. Living in Vail now and not sure if Ill ever leave Colorado…
Small world, dude. I had a girlfriend in college lived in Plattsburgh. Knew a dude that ran XC there, too. Totally stumbled onto your blog by accident.
Hey Justin,
I have to admit to being a little envious of where you live and the adventures and terrain you can explore!!!! Looking forward to reading more of what’s to come – all the very best with the 50 miler!

Hey Ron! Thanks for following and good luck with the training. I am from upstate New York myself, went to school 10 minutes from Canadian border, LOVE Colorado!
Thanks for checking out my blog. Happy running!
Thanks for reading. FYI, there is an inaugural 74 mile run/hike along the Shawngunk Ridge back in your home state this September ( http://srtrunhike.com/ ) with 32 and 20 miles options, if you are back in New York.
Hi Justin, I just spent two weeks in Tahoe and did some mountain biking and running in the mountains. I love seeing your pics and reading about your training. I am now wondering if you mountain people might have something on us sea levelers. Keep running and good luck with the training.
Thanks Megan!
Your photos are giving me trail envy! Congrats on your 50 miler. I’ve gotten stuck in traffic in Troy, NY on my way to Vermont a few times.
Well done on the fifty miler 🙂 Great stuff
Justin, thanks for stopping by my blog. My trail running friends love your part of the country.
Impressive running record! You have perfect country to explore in CO! Thanks for stopping by my blog 🙂
Ah! Trail running – sounds like a good adventure. Thanks for following my blog. looking forward to reading more on your chosen passion.
Hi Jason, thanks for following my blog. I’m jealous of your running terrain. I enjoy reading about your adventures in running.
Hey thank you!
Thanks for the follow! I am not a runner, but I am thoroughly enjoying meandering through your blog! Cheers!
Rooster, super name for a German Shepherd! I’m scheduled for a 50 miler in Jan…may have to back it up a bit, as it took me a month to recover from the 50K in October. The Asics I ran in were too stiff for an Achilles tendon, not enough give, never had a problem before those shoes. Argh….and the steep inclines and descents did not help! Love Colorado. Been to Colorado Springs many a time!
Good luck with your 50! Try some Altras!
Justin, thanks so much for stopping by and subscribing to my blog! Wish I had your scenery for running. Great photos! I look forward to keeping up with your adventures.
What a fantastic place to call home. Great blog. I look forward to reading more of your adventures.
Wow!, good job on all your accomplishments, I am looking to run my first 100K in October and hopefully God willing I will run my first 100 miler in Decemebr and/or January. I too want to become an Ambassador for Altra running shoes, hoping they pick me up this year, but kudos to you and all the sponsors you have, looking forward to reading some more about your adventures!
You got a lot of great things going on! I’m super impressed (and a little bit jealous)!
Wow, thank you!! You have a nice blog yourself. Love me some yoga too!
